Founders

Falk Daum

After a banking apprenticeship Falk studied business administration at the University of Augsburg. In addition to his German University diploma he also holds a Master of Science in Financial Management and Electronic Commerce as well as a diploma of higher education from Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh.

Prior to Serafin, Falk led several M&A transactions as seller, buyer or consultant, among others, for Siemens AG. For more than ten years his focus was on mid-sized German companies.


Philipp Haindl

Philipp completed his studies at London School of Economics with a Master of Global Economic History. He started his career as Associate at KPMG in the audit department bevor moving on to corporate finance valuation services.

Before founding Serafin Philipp was active in business analysis and acquisitions for five years and was involved in numerous M&A transactions.


Dino Kitzinger

Dino completed his studies in management and economics at University of Chicago with a Master of Business Administration. Previous he completed a real estate management apprenticeship with highest honors from the State of Bavaria and graduated with honors from the University of Biberach with focus on real estate and business administration. He started his professional career in the field of transaction advisory within the auditing company Arthur Andersen. Before founding Serafin Group, he led numerous successful restructuring processes within the attorney and insolvency firm Metzeler van Betteray based in Düsseldorf and the Munich based private equity company Aurelius.

Management

Dr. Dominik Socher

After having finished a banking apprenticeship Dominik studied business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilian-University of Munich. Afterwards Dominik earned his doctoral degree in the field of valuation. He started his professional career in the corporate finance department within the auditing company KPMG. Subsequently Dominik joined Duff & Phelps and supported in building up the German operations in Munich.

Dominik has been employed at Serafin Group since 2011 and has played an integral part in the current successful development of the group. In this context he was amongst others responsible for numerous transactions. As of 2018, Dominik is responsible for equity investments and finance as managing director of Serafin Group.


Martin Pfletschinger

Martin graduated from Maastricht University with a Master of Science degree in International Business Studies. During his studies he spent a term at Stern School of Business, NYU. Martin started his career at a pan-European turnaround investor where he was involved in numerous M&A transactions. At Serafin Group, he was investment director in the transactions team and led acquisition projects in recent years.

As of 2018, Martin is responsible for equity investments as managing director of Serafin Group.


Kamil Grzelak

Kamil holds a B.Sc. in Business from ESB Reutlingen and Kelley School of Business, and an MBA from IESE Business School. Following his education Kamil started his professional career as management consultant at McKinsey & Company. During this time his work was mainly focused on strategy related topics in the processing industry. Subsequently he worked for several years in Corporate Strategy at BSH Home Appliances.

Starting at Serafin, Kamil’s main responsibility was the development of mid- and long-term strategies for the Serafin portfolio companies, while subsequently taking over the direct responsibility for various portfolio companies. As of 2018, he serves as managing director of Serafin Group and is responsible for group operations.


Mario Herrmann

After a banking apprenticeship Mario studied law at the University of Passau. After passing the second state examination (2. Staatsexamen) in Lower Saxony he was admitted to the Bar Association in 2003.

Prior to Serafin, Mario advised as a lawyer buy-out funds, corporations and medium-sized companies on corporate transactions. For more than ten years his focus has been on mid-sized German companies. As of 2018, Mario is responsible as managing director of Serafin Group for the legal department.


Alexander Roth

Alexander Roth finished a apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant, studied afterwards business psychology at the SRH University of Applied Sciences in Heidelberg and completed further qualifications as a coach and organisational consultant. He started his professional career in human resources consulting with a focus on search, selection and development of specialists and managers. Subsequently he worked in executive search for a leading international HR consultancy before taking on responsibility for the global executive recruiting at OSRAM.

During his time at Serafin, Alexander has further developed the human resources department and, as a member of the Executive Board, has been responsible for the areas of human resources, organisational development and administration since 2021.
