Apolda, May 20, 2021. eurocylinder Systems AG, a leading German manufacturer of high-pressure steel cylinders has donated 301 oxygen cylinders to the Indian NGO ‘Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’ for Covid relief. This initiative was supported by Serafin with logistical and financial support. eurocylinder Systems, headquartered in Apolda, Thuringia has been a part of the Serafin Group since 2016.
Of the 301 cylinders donated, 201 have a capacity of 40 litres and 100 have a capacity of 20 litres, to be filled with lifesaving oxygen. These have been flown from Frankfurt Airport directly to Delhi and will be used by the NGO at dedicated free mobile oxygen camps as well as bedded facilities set up for Covid patients. With this initiative, eurocylinder Systems and Serafin hope to help and support India, a country that has experienced a recent sharp increase in the number of infections of the corona virus, and where oxygen is critically needed.
Megha Kapoor, Head of the Serafin’s London office, emphasises the urgency of the situation: “The number of Covid cases in India is still rising dramatically and the health system is heavily overburdened. We are fortunate to have been able to help save lives in India with our efforts and products from our group company eurocylinder Systems.”
The Company, located in Thuringa, produces important products for the healthcare sector and is one of the few manufacturers of high-pressure steel cylinders in Germany. Michael Dathe, Board member of eurocylinder Systems, says “Our company would like to contribute by helping patients directly with our products. We immediately offered our support to this cause, given there is an acute shortage of cylinders to supply oxygen to seriously ill Covid patients in India."
